While you can probably already write this letter in uppercase and lowercase, it’s time to take it further and learn how to draw the bubble letter E.

In this guide, we will show you how to draw this letter in a fun way in 6 steps. Then we’ll show you how to color it and add some fun touches.

There is plenty of room for creativity as you create and complement this design. So don’t be afraid to experiment and have fun!

With that all sorted out, let’s take the first step and start creating this bubble letter.

How to Draw A Bubble Letter E

Step 1

In this guide, we’ll draw the uppercase version of this letter while creating your bubble with the letter E. In the first step, we first draw the back of the letter.

To do this, we draw a sufficiently long vertical line. As you can see in the reference image, this line has a slight curve.

The reason it’s curved and not quite straight is because we want the letter to look like it came out of a bubble.

This line will bend inwards at each end since it connects to the branches of the letter E that we’ll be drawing in the next few steps.

Once you’ve drawn this line as it appears in our reference image, you can move on to Step 2, where we’ll add more elements to the letter.

Step 2

Next, we’ll draw the top “branch” of the letter E. This will connect to the top line you drew in Step 1.

In our reference image, you’ll notice that the shape of this first branch is somewhat thumb-shaped. It is drawn with another slightly curved line, then sharply curves inwards.

After drawing this branch, let’s add another curved line under it. This will be the space between this branch and the central branch that we will draw later.

If you come across parts of this drawing that are giving you trouble, you can draw them with a pencil first and then go over them with the pen when satisfied.

Now that we’ve drawn this branch, we can move to step 3.

Step 3

In step 3 of this guide, we will create a mirror image of the lines drawn in the previous step.

This time the branch we’re drawing is at the bottom, so we will draw it similar to how you drew the top branch of your bubble letter E.

It extends from the end of the end line and then curves inward. Although drawn similarly to the previous step, it shouldn’t be the same.

You’ll notice that in our example, the bottom branch is slightly thicker than the top.

Like the first branch, this one will have a short vertical curved line attached.

This creates a gap in the middle.

In the next step of the guide, we’re going to fill that gap with the final branch, so let’s do it now!

Step 4

In this fourth step of the guide, we will draw the third and final arm of your letter E. Not only will this be the final arm, but it will also complete the outline before we start some interior details.

To draw this last branch, add another curved line that starts and ends in the space between the other two branches.

As you can see in the reference image, this third center branch will be slightly shorter than the previous ones. Once it’s done, you can move on to the next step and give it the finishing touches!

Ensure that the outline is exactly what you want it to be. If you’ve been using a pencil in your planning, now is the best time to erase it before proceeding.

Step 5

The floor plan is now complete, so  we will focus on adding some interior details and accents later. This should make the letter look less flat and more like a bubble.

The first step would be to draw a small oval shape on it. This oval is near the top of the letter, as shown in the reference image.

We’re drawing this oval to make the letter appear like it’s reflecting light, which makes it come to life.

If you want to create the illusion of multiple light sources being reflected, add a few more ovals on different letter sections.

Once you’re happy with the reflections of your bubble letter, we can add some curved lines to the outline.

These are brought close to the inner sections of the outline to give the letter more depth. Again, feel free to add a few more if you want to add more detail to your letter.

Before moving on to the final step, this is your chance to add some fun extra details. Here you can let off steam and let your creativity run wild!

One idea might be to choose a subject, starting with E. Then, you can add small details or small pictures around the letter to fit the theme.

You can think about it at first, but we’ll look at other ideas after adding color in the next step.

Step 6

We now have the guide’s final step, which might be the best part! Here we’ll add some colors to your letter E bubble to bring it to life.

There are endless possibilities here, and you can get creative with them. In our reference image, we showed you what colors we would choose for this design.

If you like the look, you can try to combine what we made with your favorite art supplies! As you can see, we have chosen a soft turquoise color scheme.

We didn’t stick to solid colors and instead used a gradient of light colors that faded into a darker color. This will help add even more depth to the bubble.

Of course, you can also use other colors that you like! You don’t even have to stick to just one color set.

This is your chance to show how creative you can be with color. Have fun! so have fun with it!
